PETRA Fabrication Yard
The PETRA Fabrication Yard functions as a comprehensive hub, providing a wide array of services to accommodate various project requirements, and serving as a central command centre for asset management to assist other yard locations such as the marine storage yard, Project Secondary yard (PSY), mechanical rotating & Crane maintenance workshop, and various other project sub yards. This arrangement ensures smooth operations and comprehensive support for project execution.
Spanning across an expansive area of approximately 23,500 square meters, the PETRA Fabrication Yard takes pride in its cutting-edge infrastructure and capabilities, meticulously crafted to adhere to the highest industry benchmarks. Our facility offers a diverse range of services, demonstrating versatility and excellence, encompassing but not limited to:
- Logistic & handling of materials (lifting and custom declaration)
- Tools, Equipment’s, consumables, project materials &
fittings sheltered, open storages & cold room - Diesel tank & Scheduled waste storage
- Blasting & painting chamber
- Mechanical services n machining workshop
- Sheltered with overhead crane and open fabrication yard
- Mechanical rotating & Crane maintenance workshop
- Hydro testing facilities
- Welder Qualification test facilities certified by CIDB
- Approved open area radiation survey for max 40 Curie
The Yard, which covers an area of approximately 2.3 hectres, houses the following support facilities:
Pre-drill, post drill and well tie-ins
Rejuvenation of platforms and living quarters
Brown field tie-ins and modifications
Green field installation, hook-up and commissioning
Helideck removal and installation
Onshore fabrication
Engineering and work execution, planning & construction
Provision of construction equipment and personnel
Provision of offshore marine vessels
Procurement of long lead project materials
Mobilisation of specialist vendors such as rope access, hydro blast and welding habitats
Provision of specialist services such as bolt tensioning, cold cutting and flange facing, hot tapping, GRE fabrication works
NDT inspections and testing

The Yard is supported by a team of key personnel and other technical and support staff. It has undertaken various work orders for oil majors like PETRONAS Carigali, Shell Malaysia and other clients for offshore facilities. With the robust growth of the oil & gas industry, PETRA’s Fabrication Yard is set for phenomenal growth as it represents an important component of the Group’s role in integrated brown field services for the upstream oil and gas industry in the country and region.
